Kevin has over 30 years of extensive dog training experience and is a retired law enforcement officer with the City of Detroit. After two years as a patrol officer Kevin was promoted to Lead in Charge of the K9 Unit training division. Kevin then completed the year long training/selection course to become a member of the Detroit SWAT Team. As Lead Instructor for the SWAT training division, Kevin oversaw the selection and training of new SWAT Team members.

Following retirement from the Detroit Police Department, Kevin worked as an independent consultant training law enforcement officers in tactical operations and K9 deployment.

  • Promoted to the position of Head K9 Trainer 6 months after appointment to the K9 Unit

  • Trained K-9 units responsible for successfully recovering over 1000 people with tracking dogs, over one million dollars in cash and several hundred pounds of various illegal narcotics.

  • Updated the training methods and procedures including writing a course of instruction for the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) certification for the department

  • Multiple Nationally Certified law enforcement dogs

  • Substantially increased deployment / apprehension ratio for Detroit Police Department

  • Implemented Detroit Police Department wide training on K9 scene containment

  • Increased successful tracks in the K-9 unit for felons or lost individuals from 3-5 yearly to 45-50 yearly
